No options.

When Alana was 8-years-old, she was diagnosed as prediabetic. Frightened with this news, and refusing to give into what seemed to be her fate given her family history, Alana worked to build a healthier lifestyle. A key component of this was tennis, track, and nutrition. When she turned to sports drinks however, she found they were loaded with sugar and artificial ingredients. “I couldn’t find anything made for my generation, let alone for athletes craving for healthy replenishment,” said Andrews. “Everything I found on store shelves were sugar and artificially based beverages hidden by bright and captivating labels,” explained Andrews, “and after putting hard sweat and tears out on the court and the track, I didn’t understand why I was expected to consume a product that would reverse my progress.”

So she created one.

So, she launched a new company and a sports drink, SWEY (Strong, Wise, Energetic, Youth). SWEY is specifically designed to naturally refuel Gen Z athletes without the loads of sugar and artificial ingredients that are highly present in the leading sports drinks. There was no natural replenishment for young athletes, so SWEY has addressed and solved that. The initial SWEY product line includes 25 to 30 calories per 16.9 ounce bottle. Natural flavors include Citrus Sizzle (orange and tangerine), Major Kiwi (strawberry and kiwi), and Tropicalada (pineapple and coconut.) In addition to natural flavorings, SWEY contains A, B and E vitamins; magnesium and zinc; electrolytes; coconut juice and is sweetened with monk fruit, stevia and erythritol (sugar alcohol). SWEY is designed with the diabetic athlete in mind. It is not a supplement, but it is a much better way to replenish. SWEY launched this past April and is available to order now on the website!
